Set Up Local WP

Login to your local wordPress:


The following screen appears, fill in values for the various fields. This example shows values filled in for Site Title, username, password, and a dummy email address (put in a valid one). as well, I usually uncheck the box “Allow my site to appear in search engines like Google and Technorati”. Then, click on “Install WordPress” to continue.


Success, you have successfully installed WordPress, click on “Log in” to continue.


The normal login screen now appears, enter your username and password you specified in the welcome screen, click on “Log In” to continue.


The next screen to appear is the WordPress Dashboard screen, this screen is used to add content to the web site.

On the next page, “Local WP Settings“, I will look at the dashboard and some of its menu items and make some changes to set up the WordPress test system for your use.
